The Faculty Senate is sponsoring an open forum for comments by faculty members about the Faculty Rewards and Incentives report produced by a Board of Visitors ad-hoc committee. The forum begins at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 25, in Harris Theater.
The committee is seeking university-wide feedback on its draft report. In addition to the forum, the committee will formally seek feedback through a response by the Faculty Senate and written comments to Tom Hennessey, chief of staff to President Alan Merten. Don Boileau, chair of the Faculty Senate, will moderate the forum.
The draft report contains a series of proposals, including a tuition benefit for dependents of all faculty members, six concepts for fixed-term faculty, seven proposals for adjunct faculty, and a proposal for discussions of how to award tenure for excellence in teaching and competence in research.
Faculty members wishing to speak should contact the Faculty Senate Office at x32990.
