The Student Senate is coordinating the Adopt A Spot program, which will draw support from campus organizations to maintain the appearance of certain areas of George Mason. All departments, offices, and individuals are encouraged to participate.

Student Senate is currently soliciting groups to take responsibility for keeping specific sections of the grounds clean and presentable. Each spot will have a small sign identifying which organization maintains it.

“This Student Senate project is a great idea,” says Bennett Smith, Student Government president. “It will let groups like fraternities, that need community service hours, have the chance to earn those hours while supporting Mason directly.”

Interested groups, departments, or offices that want to adopt an area should contact Heidi Chase at hchase_gmu@hotmail.com by March 6. Include the contact person’s name, e-mail, phone number, and the name of the organization that will appear on the sign.
