The George Mason women’s team, in just its third year of existence, and the UNC Wilmington men took home the championship titles at the 2002 Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Swimming and Diving Championships at the sold-out Aquatic and Fitness Center on the Fairfax Campus this weekend.

George Mason’s Lauren Stinnett was named the Women’s Outstanding Performer. The sophomore won three events–the 200-meter backstroke, the 200-meter fly, and the 400-meter individual medley–and was on the 400-meter relay medley winning team. Her winning times in the individual performances all set CAA meet records.

George Mason head coach Peter Ward was named the Women’s Coach of the Year.
