“Homeland Security And The Urban Village,” a seminar sponsored by Arlington Economic Development and the Ballston Partnership, will be held at the Arlington Campus tomorrow from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the Original Building, Room 244. A complimentary breakfast will be served at 8 a.m.
Many questions have arisen as people look for ways to protect their cities and freedoms in the wake of Sept. 11. The first part of the seminar will address government and federal security needs and will answer questions on security issues such as the potential banning of parking in front of federal buildings. Roger Courtney, vice president of EDAW Inc., moderates the session.
The second half of the seminar examines ways to make cities more secure. It will focus on issues such as added police versus personal freedom. Stanley Taylor, associate vice president of the Arlington Campus, will be one of the panelists on this topic.
The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required. For more information or to register, contact Tara Bowers at (703) 228-0853 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
