Work Control Center Changes Name

As George Mason moves forward with new electronic capabilities, communications, and other innovative ways to provide better service, the Work Control Center has changed its name to better depict its mission. Under its new name, the Customer Service Center, the goal is to provide prompt service, up-to-date information, and great customer service.
Over the next several months the center will continue working with different departments to find out better ways to meet their needs. It has launched a new web page where authorized personnel can enter and track work orders electronically, and another page where anyone can submit a work order will soon be launched. Other changes include automating part of the maintenance management software that confirms and gives status to the requestor of a work order via e-mail; e-mailing invoices to departments when their work is complete so it can be reviewed before reports are sent to Accounts Payable; and implementing a program that will project preventive maintenance costs before the upcoming fiscal year.
