“Crisis in the Middle East” Lecture Held Tomorrow

Yossi Olmert, an expert on the Arab-Israeli conflict, will deliver a lecture titled “An Israeli Perspective on the Current Crisis in the Middle East” tomorrow at 7:30 p.m. in the Johnson Center Cinema. The lecture is sponsored by the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution, the Department of Public and International Affairs, and George Mason Hillel.
Olmert is an authority on Israeli politics, the Arab-Israeli conflict, and radical Islam, and has taught extensively on these subjects while a professor of Middle Eastern Studies at Tel Aviv University and guest lecturer abroad. Olmert served in past Israeli governments as director of the Government Press Office and advisor to Prime Minister Yitzhak Shamir, and later as policy advisor to Defense Minister Moshe Arens under Prime Minister Binyamin (Bibi) Netanyahu.
Olmert is widely recognized in Israel for his work as a political columnist in Israel’s leading newspaper, Yediot Aharanot, the English daily Jerusalem Post, and as a frequent guest on political talk shows. Additionally, he works as a policy and press consultant and is a professor of security studies at the college system of Bar-Ilan University.
