The Book Club has decided to read The Secret Life of the Brain by Richard Restak for its next meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 5 p.m. on the third floor of the Johnson Center.
The book explores five developmental stages of the brain: gestation, childhood, adolescence, adulthood, and old age. Real life stories and anecdotes contribute to an interesting read. Restak is a practicing neurologist and neuropsychiatrist and the author of dozens of articles and more than 15 books on the brain. He is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine and lives and practices in Washington, D.C.
The Book Club is always looking for new book enthusiasts to join. The group reads nonfiction and decides together what it will read the following month. For more information or to join the Book Club, contact Nancy Murphy at x38760.
