The BBC Concert Orchestra makes an appearance at the Concert Hall tomorrow at 8 p.m. on its current 50th Anniversary tour. The program, “Last Night at the Proms,” mirrors the popular final night of revelry after the 70 main Prom concerts held every year at London’s Royal Albert Hall.
The program includes Bernstein’s Overture to Candide, Sibelius’s March from Karelia Suite, Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue, Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1, and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture. Under the baton of principal conductor Barry Wordsworth, the orchestra is joined by one of Britain’s fine young musicians, pianist Lucy Parham. A pre-performance discussion begins at 7:15 p.m. on the Grand Tier of the Concert Hall.
Tickets for BBC Concert Orchestra are $50, $42, and $25. Charge by phone at (703) 218-6500 or visit www.tickets.com.
