GMU-TV Logo Contest Designs Due Next Week

Submissions for the GMU-TV logo design contest are due on Friday, Jan. 25. The winning logo will appear on-air, and on brochures, handouts, correspondence, T-shirts, and other items.

“We’re looking for a new way to define our image,” says Steve Watson, senior producer/director for GMU-TV, in explaining why the unit is holding the contest open to all, an idea suggested by GMU-TV’s advisory board.

The design should include “GMU-TV” and submitted images must be original works, free of copyright or trademark infringement. Watson says that GMU-TV staff will be happy to look at work in progress and offer feedback. All submissions become the sole property of GMU-TV to reproduce, modify, print, and use any way GMU-TV deems fit. The winner will receive an item of GMU-TV apparel and a mug.

Submissions must be at least 720W x 540H pixels (4:3 aspect ratio), preferably in .eps or .psd format and presented on CD-ROM or zip or floppy disk. A color printout should be included, along with the designer’s name, phone number, and e-mail address. Submissions should not be e-mailed; deliver them to GMU-TV, 1014 David King Hall.
