The TAM-EAST Conference 2002, held Jan. 10 to 12 at the Hyatt Regency Reston, joins the Technology and Media (TAM) Conference, sponsored by the Technology and Media Division of the Council for Exceptional Children, and the Eastern Assistive Solutions with Technology (EAST) Conference, sponsored by the Graduate School of Education’s Kellar Institute for Human disAbilities, in one conference that focuses on current research, innovative developments, and practical experience in the field of assistive technology.
The mission of the conference is to provide information and resources related to assistive technology for individuals with disabilities, their families, and professionals in the field. Attendees will learn to use tools, strategies, and resources that allow individuals with disabilities to live, work, and learn more independently. Presentations and exhibitions will support emerging technologies and research. Neil Bush, CEO of Ignite! Learning, gives the keynote address. An interactive videoconference will include selected presentations to be downlinked to other sites on Jan. 11.
