For the second year in a row, George Mason’s sophomore outside hitter Aline Pereira was named Virginia Sports Information Director’s (VaSID) Volleyball Player of the Year. Pereira, who shared the honor last year, was the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Player of the Year, leading the CAA in kills per game with 5.21. Ranking ninth nationally in the category, Pereira had her most impressive match against Pittsburgh in which she had 31 kills to become a part of the exclusive 30-kill club. Pereira was also named to the VaSID Volleyball First Team.

Two other Patriots received honors from VaSID. Senior outside hitter Natalia Torres-Tirado and freshman setter Jesica Umansky were both named to the Second Team.
