George Mason is about to get medieval. More than 750 votes were submitted via an online survey to decide the medieval theme for Homecoming 2002, and the University Homecoming Committee has chosen “Patriot Knights” as the event’s slogan. The committee of students and representatives from departments across campus plans to reveal a logo prior to the end of the fall semester. Homecoming 2002 is scheduled for February 11-16.
The majority of people voted to continue the fireworks that began at last year’s Homecoming. Other activities suggested from the survey included service projects, a pep rally, parade, talent show, banner contest, carnival, and spirit competitions. Currently the only activity confirmed is the pregame block party, which has become a George Mason Homecoming tradition.
