The Quality of Work Life Task Force identified the availability of on-campus childcare as a widespread concern, although it was not immediately evident whether cost or facility quality motivated the concern. In keeping with task force recommendations, a request for the construction of a new child development center has been included in George Mason’s list of capital projects and will be evaluated within the university’s overall need for space.
University Services and Human Resources are conducting a brief survey to collect information that will assist with this evaluation and to better understand employee needs and concerns for on-campus childcare. To complete the survey, visit hr.gmu.edu/temp no later than Nov. 20.
