The Book Club has decided to read Making the Most of College: Students Speak Their Minds by Richard Light for its next meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 20, at 5 p.m. on the third floor of the Johnson Center. The book is based on research by more than 60 faculty members from 20 colleges and universities, and interviews with undergraduates. Two major subjects are explored: the choices students make to get the most out of college, and effective ways for faculty members to help students get the best experience. The Chronicle of Higher Education recently reviewed the book, noting it was a must-read.
The Book Club is always looking for new book enthusiasts to join. The group reads nonfiction and decides together what it will read the following month. For more information or to join the Book Club, contact Nancy Murphy at x38760.
