Lisa Carr, e-mail account administrator in the Information Technology Unit, is the November Employee of the Month. “Lisa routinely goes above and beyond the call of duty to provide technical support for the president’s offices,” says President Alan Merten in his letter supporting Carr’s nomination. “Her knowledge, trouble-shooting ability, and willingness to go the extra mile are truly exemplary.”
Carr administers the GroupWise, MEMO, and OSF1 e-mail systems. She is also the main contact for all technical matters for the Office of the President. “Lisa never questions requests that are clearly not included in her job description and this is a testament to her outstanding service to the university,” says Tracy Viselli, supervisor of information technology services in the Division of Instructional and Technology Support Services.
Carr began working at George Mason as a wage employee in 1989 while an undergraduate student and was hired as a full-time classified personnel four years ago. Before coming to George Mason, Carr worked for a computer training center and a recording studio.
“As Lisa’s supervisor, I have the pleasure of working with her each and every day. It is Lisa’s willingness to always pitch in that makes her such a valuable asset to the university,” says Tracy Holt, manager of e-mail systems and accounts.
