The Virginia Preparedness and Security Panel convenes today at George Mason’s Arlington Campus. Gov. James Gilmore is on hand with Edwin Meese, rector of the Board of Visitors. The day-long meeting begins at 10 a.m. and is held in the Original Building, Room 329.
Gilmore created the group shortly after the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11 to “ensure safety mechanisms are implemented to protect Virginians and their property from future terrorist attack.” M. Wayne Huggins, president of Omniplex International, serves as chair of the panel.
