Faculty Showcase Series Continues on Tuesday

The second event in the faculty showcase series, sponsored by the Center for Teaching Excellence and the Instructional Resource Center, features Jim Barry, a professor of international politics, ethics, and management in New Century College. He will talk about how he helps his students deepen their knowledge of the real world and develop their skills in analysis and communication by participating in case studies and online simulations. These learning objectives are applicable to many academic fields.
Barry has more than 30 years of experience with the federal government specializing in national security policy and arms control. Join your colleagues and enjoy refreshments at the presentation on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 2 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Room 311.
The third faculty showcase on Oct. 17 will feature Kenneth Thompson of the English Department. He will discuss technical and pedagogical strategies for using film in the classroom at 2 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Assembly Room D.
