William Reeder, dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts, will present “Managing Time for Managers,” a day-long workshop for George Mason faculty and staff, on Thursday, Oct. 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Johnson Center Room A. Offered as part of Human Resources’ Make a Difference at Mason series, the workshop will benefit new and experienced managers and anyone who is in charge of a team.
“The way we manage our time when we teach or perform in our profession is different from the way we manage our time when we wear our managerial hat,” Reeder says. “Exploring the nature of those opposites will enable other people to be successful. In the process, we bring the 80-hour workweek under control and we optimize the strengths of our staff or members of our team.”
Reeder was one of the first faculty members to respond to Human Resources’ call for faculty volunteers to teach staff development programs; others interested should contact Carol Henderson, staff development manager, at x32621.
