Professors Lin Adrian and Vibeke Vindelov, visiting from Denmark, present their approach to international conflict management at the season’s first Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (ICAR) brown bag lecture today at noon.
Adrian is the director of a new master’s program in mediation and dispute resolution at the University of Copenhagen in the School of Law. He was trained in dispute resolution in the United States in the 1980s, is both a practitioner and trainer in the field, and is author of a practitioner’s guide. Vindelov is not only a practitioner and theorist, but also teaches classes at the law school in mediation, negotiation and dispute resolution, and has also written a book comparing mediation to traditional court processes.
The brown bag lecture is part of a series of informal presentations on research and practice of conflict resolution. Today features a 25-minute talk, followed by questions and discussion in the ICAR Main Conference Room, A401, located at 4260 Chain Bridge Road, Fairfax.
