George Mason to Host U.S. Soccer Men’s National Team

The George Mason University Athletics Department hosts a recreational soccer match and reception with participation from media and V.I.P.s on Thursday, Aug. 30, beginning at 10:30 a.m. The match is held in conjunction with U.S. Soccer National Team practices and the George Mason Soccer Classic.

The U.S. Soccer Men’s National Team will be training at George Mason beginning Monday, Aug. 27, through Monday, Sept. 3, in preparation for its World Cup qualifier against Honduras on Saturday, Sept. 1, at RFK Stadium at 10 a.m. The team will continue training on Sunday and Monday before traveling to its World Cup qualifier at Costa Rica on Wednesday. Most training sessions will be closed.

George Mason’s men’s soccer team will be hosting the George Mason Classic on Friday, Aug. 31, and Sunday, Sept. 2, with nationally ranked teams, including James Madison, SMU, and Wake Forest.
