Police Win First Place in New Bowling League

George Mason’s first summer bowling league wrapped up its premier season on the last day of July with the Police Department’s team capturing first place honors. Known as GMUPD, this team finished the season with a record of 38 wins and 10 losses. Members of the team were Gil McAuliff, Margaret Jones, Fletcher Daniels, Lori Logan, and Joe Pignatiello.

In other league awards, McAuliff was named top men’s bowler with a 209 average and Jones was named top women’s bowler with a 145 average.

A total of 35 George Mason employees participated in the league, with another 13 men and women serving as substitutes. There were 10 teams in the league during this season, which lasted 12 weeks. For information on participating in next summer’s league, contact Sandra Blackett-Hardeman at x32600.
