In an effort to assess and improve the quality of work life for staff members in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), the college has created a Dean’s Staff Advisory Board. The purpose of the board is to advise the dean on issues relating to staff work throughout the college. The board will meet five times a year, and members will serve as liaisons between the dean and other staff members. The board will include a total of 10 classified staff and administrative faculty members from the dean’s office and CAS departments and programs. Members will remain on the board for two years.
The Staff Advisory Board is modeled after the Dean’s Student Advisory Board, created last spring. Dean Daniele Struppa meets regularly with this board, whose members give him input on undergraduate life in the College of Arts and Sciences and at the university in general.
Those interested in applying for the CAS Staff Advisory Board should submit an application by August 31. The application should include a cover sheet listing the applicant’s name, e-mail address, phone number, mail stop number, and current job title; a resume; and a one-page memo to the dean on an issue related to the quality of work life within the college or on an issue of particular concern to staff in the college. Submit applications to CAS Dean’s Staff Advisory Board, MS 3A3, C100 College Hall, or via e-mail to email@example.com. Questions may be directed to Amanda Adolph at x38886.
