The George Mason women’s soccer team will embark today on a 12-day competition and cultural tour of Europe, including England, France, and Belgium.
Led by head coach Jac Cicala, who enters his 10th season at the helm, and assistant coach Sue Vodicka, the Mason contingent of 20 returning players will have six competitions in England and Belgium, and a cultural tour of France that includes Paris. This is the program’s second international trip after competing in Scotland in 1996.
“We are very excited to have this opportunity,” says Cicala. “Getting this kind of international experience is a big bonus for our program and our training for the 2001 season. And the cultural experience is priceless for student-athlete development.”
