At the request of Pat McGrath, University Computing and Information Systems, the Post Office in SUB II has ordered a supply of breast cancer research postage stamps. The first class stamps cost 40 cents each, or a page of 20 stamps costs $8. Seventy percent of net proceeds above the cost of postage go to breast cancer research at the National Institutes of Health and the U.S. Department of Defense’s medical research program. Those pennies add up–recent statistics show that more than 200 million stamps have been sold, raising more than $15 million for research.
