Stephen Johnson Named All-Virginia in Baseball

George Mason junior designated hitter Stephen Johnson has received honorable mention on the 2001 University Division All-State baseball team chosen by the Virginia Sports Information Directors.
Johnson enjoyed an outstanding offensive season in his first year with the Patriots after transferring from Virginia Military Institute. He led the team with a .353 batting average, 46 runs, 67 hits, 16 stolen bases, and a .444 on-base percentage. He also ranked second with nine home runs, 28 walks, and a .584 slugging percentage, was third with 35 runs batted in, and was fourth with 11 doubles.
