Super Staff Graduate from Program

Several George Mason staff members successfully completed their eight-month commitment to the Supervisor Series with final project presentations on Monday, May 7. The Supervisor Series graduates are Ida Barbour, Community Relations; Brian Davern, Cash Office; Ruth Lynch, Adult Learning and Professional Development; Eve Mercer, Fenwick Library; Pam Michel, Fiscal Services; Judy Morton, University Publications; Pam Scott, University Computing and Information Systems; Carrie Secondo, University Publications; and Rajni Shankar, Information Services. . They will be honored in a graduation reception on May 25 where Senior Vice President Maurice Scherrens will speak.
The Supervisor Series is a training tool offered through the Human Resources Department for anyone in a management or supervisory position. The series explores all facets of being a supervisor, from its basic definition to learning how to accommodate differences in the way people work using Myers-Briggs instruments.
Participants in the Supervisor Series have to make an eight-month commitment to the program. Requirements include reading the books Type Talk at Work and Project Management, attending eight workshops, and completing a project to benefit their work area.
