The Fairfax Campus will be filled with incoming students as the fall 2001 freshman and transfer orientations begin.

Students will catch the Patriot spirit as they learn about university life, discover academic resources and disciplines, make new friends, meet with advisors, register for classes, and have fun. Two-day freshman orientations are held June 18 and 19, June 21 and 22, June 25 and 26, June 28 and 29, and July 9 and 10. One-day transfer orientations are broken down into daytime and evening sessions — the daytime programs on May 1, June 4, and July 12 run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., and the evening sessions on May 3, June 6, and Aug. 1 run from 5:30 to 9 p.m.

Orientation activities include placement exams, check-in, an information fair, Patriot welcome, registration information sessions, academic meetings, advising, class registration, email activation, and family programs.
