Today is the second annual Take Our Daughters to Work Day at the Prince William Campus. This full day of fun and educational programs includes workshops, games, and lunch for girls in grades four through nine. Over a dozen girls participated in the programs last year and even more are expected this year.

Presenters are from University Police, Student Health Services, the Prince William Library, Administration of Justice Program, Initiatives in Educational Transformation, Train to Technology Program, and the Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center.

An expert from the Administration of Justice program will speak about ongoing work nationwide to make schools safer. The School of Information Technology and Engineering is sponsoring a web design workshop where the girls will learn how to design their own pages. At the Freedom Aquatic and Fitness Center, the children can do a power-packed cardio workout using heart rate monitors and the latest fitness equipment, followed by a relaxing introduction to power yoga. The George Mason University Police will test the girls’ detective skills by sending them on a hunt for clues to help them close a case.
