The Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) named Jill Toomey and Paula Priest to its women’s lacrosse all-conference first team, while Katie Keegan, Lisa Hagan, and Jamie Tiburzi earned second-team honors at the CAA banquet last Friday night. All five Patriots earned the accolade for the first time.
Toomey was fourth in the league and tied for 19th in the nation in scoring with 51 points heading into last weekend’s CAA Tournament. Priest leads the team in caused turnovers with 38, five shy of the school single-season record held by former assistant coach Liz Robertshaw.
Keegan ranks second on the team in scoring and is tied for fourth in the conference with 44 points on 26 goals and 18 assists. Tiburzi ranks 16th in the nation in save percentage with a .560 mark, and has a 9.91 goals against average and a 7-7 record. Hagan was one of just two rookies to be named All-CAA this year. The freshman ranks third on the team with 13 goals and 17 assists for 30 points.
