Bennett Smith and Simmi Bhuller were elected Student Body president and vice president during the election held April 17-19.

Bennett and Simmi campaigned on “Putting Students First,” and on such issues as parking services reform and a 24-hour student union building, using the funds that become available as the mortgage on SUB I is paid off. They also lobbied on issues such as Greek housing and a 24-hour on-campus, on-call doctor. Bennett and Simmi plan to work with the students, administration, faculty members, and the Board of Visitors to establish a long-term plan to bring a National Collegiate Athletic Association football team to George Mason “sooner rather than later.”

“I am honored and excited for this opportunity to serve the students during this upcoming year,” says Smith. “This is one of the best opportunities we have ever had to bring positive changes for students to this university.”

Smith and Bhuller are both juniors majoring in government and international politics. For more information, contact Jesse Binnall at (703) 582-7924.
