President Alan Merten has received the most prestigious recognition conferred by the Northern Virginia Technology Council (NVTC) — the 2001 Earle C. Williams Leadership in Technology Award. He was honored in special ceremonies on Wednesday.

This award, according to Bobbie Kilberg, NVTC president, is presented to one person each year “whose personal and professional endeavors have contributed significantly to the Northern Virginia technology business sector and by extension to the entire Northern Virginia community.”

In the presentation, Merten was praised for his efforts in leading George Mason to a position of prominence in these areas.
