The Admissions Office has exceeded its goals for the year. According to Marcelle Heerschap, dean of Admissions, 7,846 students have applied to George Mason for freshman admission this year, up 10 percent from this same time last year. Of that pool, 5,082 have been admitted, exceeding the office’s goals for this year. In addition, the quality of applicants is up, says Heerschap.
In years past, applications received after the Feb. 1 priority deadline could be accommodated, but due to the large number of applications received, late applications will no longer be accepted. Transfer applications will be accepted through June 1, so that students currently enrolled at other universities can complete the spring term before applying for admission.
