Northern Virginia Delegate Ken Plum yesterday called for the governor, speaker of the House of Delegates, and president pro tem of the Senate to enlist the professional assistance of George Mason’s Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (ICAR) to resolve the current budget stalemate.
In his letter, Plum says, “The institute is internationally known and highly regarded for its work in dispute resolution. At the same time, we have one of the most publicly visible disputes in the country, if not the world, in our budget impasse.” Plum urged Gov. Jim Gilmore to take the first step in moving to a solution to the situation.
