Roger Stough, director of the Mason Enterprise Center in the School of Public Policy, joins GMU-TV’s Tech Horizons show this month as a host. His first program discusses the impact of technology on entrepreneurship in Northern Virginia. Currently, Lloyd Griffiths, dean of the School of Information Technology and Engineering, hosts four episodes per semester. With Stough joining the program, GMU-TV hopes to produce four episodes with each host in the fall season.
The Tech Horizons series focuses on emerging technology for both the average computer user and the technophile. The show is broadcast six days a week on every cable system in Northern Virginia, and has aired on WNVT in Maryland and Washington, D.C. Beginning April 7, the first season of Tech Horizons airs nationally on the ResearchChannel Fridays at 6:30 p.m. The ResearchChannel, a consortium of some of the world’s leading research institutions, is on channel 9400 of EchoStar’s Dish 500 Network.
GMU-TV has also launched a web site for Tech Horizons, which has information about current and past shows, video clips from the show’s FAQ segments, and step-by-step instructions to follow the FAQs. Another new web site has been established for the Capital Region Roundtable show. The site provides information on past shows and lets the user search for shows by topic or guest.
