Biology Department, CAS Host Genome Sequencing Lecture

The Biology Department and the College of Arts and Sciences host Claire Fraser on Wednesday as she speaks on “Microbial Genome Sequencing: Insights into Physiology and Evolution.”
Fraser is president and director of The Institute for Genomic Research in Rockville, Md., a nonprofit research center with interests in structural, functional, and comparative analyses of genomes and gene products. Fraser led teams that sequenced the genomes of several microbial organisms and helped initiate the era of comparative genomics.
The event is part of the Distinguished Lecture Series and begins at 7:30 p.m. in the SUB II Ballroom.
