Religious leaders and conflict resolution specialists come together today and tomorrow to address issues related to proselytizing and global religious conflict. Nearly two dozen invited participants meet for the conference, “Religious Proselytizing and Conflict Resolution,” to discuss why religious groups proselytize, what situations related to proselytizing are most likely to produce serious conflict, and what solutions to the problem are feasible. The recent resurgence of religious conflict in numerous contexts is one factor that prompted the conference.
Sponsored by the Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (ICAR), the conference includes representatives from all major faiths. It convenes on the third floor of the Johnson Center, and is closed to the press and public.
