A month-long celebration of Asian/Pacific Islander heritage starts tomorrow on the Fairfax Campus. Sponsored by the Office of Diversity Programs and Services, the celebration is filled with movies, music, lectures, and presentations.
The first event is a lecture by Kristine Aono, a contemporary, well-known Japanese artist. Aono discusses her work tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Building. Other events include screenings of the movie The Legend of Drunken Master starring Jackie Chan; a Chinese costume and dance presentation; a celebration of Indian music and dance; and a film festival honoring anthropologist Margaret Mead.
