The China Dance Theater, China’s largest music and dance troupe, presents August Rising at the Concert Hall for two performances only on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. An artistic discussion is held 45 minutes before each show in the Grand Tier Lobby.
In its North American premiere tour, the China Dance Theater allows the audience to experience traditional Chinese folk art that has a modern flair and interpretation. The troupe explores China’s traditional performing arts through an accessible dance language that is rooted in history and relies on extensive athleticism and acrobatics.
Tickets for August Rising are $40, $32, and $20, and can be purchased through the Center for the Arts. As part of the special Family Friendly prices, all children’s tickets are half price for both performances. For more information, call x38888.
