The Institute for Conflict Analysis and Resolution (ICAR) co-sponsors the Leadership for Attacking Global Food and Agribusiness Barriers Conference today through Wednesday. The event, on the Fairfax Campus, is held in conjunction with the Mediation and Finance Training Center at Arizona State University and the Royal Agricultural College in the United Kingdom.
The focus of the conference is the reduction of transatlantic barriers to trade and business development through collaborative education efforts between the United States and the European Union.
Several distinguished speakers are attending the event, including John Block, president of Food Distributors International and former U.S. secretary of agriculture; Lord Henry Plumb, member of the European Parliament and governor of Royal Agricultural College in the U.K.; and Jean Grier, senior counsel for trade agreements for U.S. Department of Commerce.
