Patriot Men, Women Finish Fifth at CAA Swimming Championships

The George Mason women’s swimming and diving team scored 406 points to take fifth place at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Swimming and Diving Championship held last week at the Aquatic and Fitness Center. The Patriot men scored 395 points and also finished in fifth place.
Louise Middlemore finished third in the 200 breaststroke, and Christy Milstead was second in the 200 fly to lead the George Mason women. Jackalyn Horn finished ninth in the 1650 freestyle, and Jen Lastfogel was ninth in the 100 freestyle. Jamie Downing finished fifth in the one-meter diving.
Kyle Troop and Tim Fisher finished second and third in the three-meter diving to pace the Patriot men. Cameron Charlton took fourth in the 200 breaststroke, while Mike Sihler placed 11th. Eric Stehle was seventh in the 1650 freestyle. Chris Natoli placed 12th in the 200 backstroke, while Ben Danforth was 13th.
The James Madison University men won their ninth CAA Swimming and Diving Championship and third in a row, while the Dukes’ women’s team captured its fifth conference title.
