George Mason Foundation Celebrates 35th Anniversary

The 35th anniversary of the George Mason University Foundation was marked Feb. 9 with a joint dinner of the current and former members of the Board of Visitors (BOV) and the current and former members of the Board of Trustees of the foundation.
Hosts for the event, held in the Johnson Center, were BOV rector Edwin Meese III, chairman of the foundation K. David Boyer, and George Mason President Alan Merten.
The George Mason College Foundation was established with the signing of articles of incorporation on Feb. 10, 1966. The foundation assists the university in raising private support and manages, invests, and administers private gifts, including endowment and real property. Judy Jobbitt, vice president for University Development and Alumni Affairs, is president of the foundation.
