Laura Todd, director of Orientation for the past year, is leaving Mason on March 2, to become the new director of student activities at George Washington University. For Todd, the new position paves the way toward her long-term career goal to be a dean of students or vice president of student affairs. Assistant director Amy Snyder will be responsible for Todd’s duties until a replacement is found. According to Todd, a search for the new director will begin in a few weeks.

“I will miss Mason a lot,” says Todd. “It’s been a wonderful experience.” She admits that she was not ready to leave George Mason and that departing is “bittersweet,” but the opportunity is too good to dismiss. “I’ve made a lot of great personal and professional relationships, and I’m sorry that I’ve only been here a year.”
