Visiting Writers Series Brings Five More Writers to Campus

The spring 2001 Visiting Writers Series continues this month with a reading by author Suzannah Lessard tomorrow in the Johnson Center, Assembly Room C. Winner of the 1995 Whiting Award and a writer for the New Yorker, Lessard’s 1996 memoir, The Architect of Desire: Beauty and Danger in the Stanford White Family, was a national bestseller and a New York Times Notable Book for that year.
The series continues with short story writer Stuart Dybek on Monday, Feb. 26, in the Johnson Center Cinema; poet Joan Retallack on Monday, March 19, in the Grand Tier Lobby of the Concert Hall; Kate Wheeler on Monday, April 2, location TBA; and essayist Phillip Lopate on Tuesday, April 17, in the Grand Tier Lobby of the Concert Hall.
