Poetry Reading Opens the Spring Visiting Writer Series

A reading by poet Martha Collins opens the spring semester Visiting Writers Series tomorrow at 8 p.m. in the Grand Tier Lobby of the Concert Hall. Collins has published several poetry collections including Catastrophe of Rainbows, The Arrangement of Space, and Some Things Words Can Do. She also helped translate The Women Carry River Water, which features selected poems of Vietnamese author Nguyen Quang Thieu.
Collins teaches at Oberlin College, where she directs the creative writing program and serves as editor of Field magazine. Sponsored by the Graduate Creative Writing Program, the Visiting Writers Series brings four to five well-known authors to campus each semester. For more information, call x31180.
