The Book Club is looking to increase its membership, and current members are inviting Mason faculty and staff to next month’s discussion. At 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 17, the club will review Voodoo Science: The Road from Foolishness to Fraud by Robert Park.
“Scientific error has a way of evolving from self-delusion to fraud,” says Park. “I use the term voodoo science to cover them all: pathological science, junk science, pseudoscience, and fraudulent science.” Parks wrote the book to “help the reader recognize voodoo science and understand the forces that seem to conspire to keep it alive.”
The Book Club meets once a month on the third floor of the Johnson Center. For more information, contact Nancy Murphy at x37860.
