Every week on GMU-TV, four roundtable discussion programs–Mason Currents, Capital Region Roundtable, Mason Sidelines, and Tech Horizons–are shown during prime time. GMU-TV is shown on Cox Cable channel 18, Comcast (Reston) channel 18, and Comcast (Alexandria) channels 79 and 95. Following are the topic, host, guests, and programming schedule for each show airing this week:

  • Mason Currents #8–“George Mason University” is hosted by Star Muir, Division of Instructional Improvement and Instructional Technologies. The guest is President Alan Merten. The show airs today and Saturday, Jan. 20, at 4 p.m.; Wednesday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m.; Thursday, Jan. 18, at 7:30 p.m.; and Friday, Jan. 19, at 7 p.m.
  • Capital Region Roundtable #48–“Introduction to the State of Democracy” is hosted by Toni-Michelle Travis, Public and International Affairs. Guests are Seymour Martin Lipset, Hazel Professor of Public Policy at Mason; Catharin Dalpino, deputy director of the Center for Northeast Asia Policy Studies at the Brookings Institution; and Zhang Yuanyuan, counselor at the Chinese Embassy.   • Tech Horizons #1–“Entrepreneurship” is hosted by Lloyd Griffiths, dean of the School of Information Technology and Engineering (IT&E). Guests are Sharon de Monsabert, faculty member in IT&E; Michael Lenyon, chief executive officer and programmer at Quotescape, Inc.; and Tony Carter, chairman Edge Technologies. Curtis McNay, network administrator in the Division of Instructional Improvement and Instructional Technologies, moderates a FAQ segment.
