Patricia Kluge has been elected to the Board of Trustees for the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study. “Patricia Kluge’s breadth of knowledge will make her a valuable addition to the Krasnow Board of Trustees,” says Mark Friedlander, chairman of the institute. “Ms. Kluge’s modern approaches to bringing art and the creative process together will serve the institute well as it continues to grow in reputation.”
A resident of Charlottesville, she is the president and chief executive officer of Kluge Estate Winery and Vineyard and Kluge Investments Ltd. She sits on the boards of the Virginia Environmental Endowment, the Federal Law Enforcement Foundation, and New York University, and is a member of the Dean’s Council at the Tisch School of Arts. She is also founder of the Virginia Festival of American Film at the University of Virginia and established the Kluge Children’s Rehabilitation Center, the Francis Hooks Scholarship, and after-school programs for underprivileged children. In addition, she has served on the Board of Visitors of the University of Virginia.
“The Krasnow Institute is an excellent example of the innovative approach to higher education and research at George Mason University,” says President Alan Merten. “Ms. Kluge’s commitment to civic and cultural affairs, especially within the Commonwealth of Virginia, will only serve to further distinguish an already world-class Board of Trustees of the Krasnow Institute.”
