UCIS Schedules Service Outages during Winter Break

University Computing and Information Systems (UCIS) has scheduled computer service outages during the winter break. During these outages, UCIS staff will be working to improve the dependability and functionality of the university’s information technology environment. The outages were scheduled at this time to minimize the impact to the George Mason community. UCIS has provided the following schedule to indicate when each service outage begins and how long it lasts.

Commerce fileservers (GMU 85/86 Dec. 22, 2 p.m. 46 hours
Portal (gmu.edu e-mail gateway, listproc, DNS, NTP, and News) Dec. 23, 6 a.m. 18 hours
All UCIS-managed fileservers (GMU 01 through GMU 86) Dec. 23, Noon 48 hours
Network (Internet, Central Systems, Fileservers, Groupwise, etc.) Dec. 26, 6 a.m. 96 hours
Mason3 (Classweb, Townhall, WebCT) Dec. 26, 6 a.m. 18 hours
Prince William and Arlington Campus Network Dec. 29, Noon 2 hours
Mason Cluster (OSF1/Pine e-mail, etc.) Dec. 30, 6 a.m. 18 hours
MEMO (e-mail and calendar services) Jan. 2, 7 a.m. 5 hours
