Patriots Down Dukes at James Madison

Jesse Young led four George Mason players in double figures in scoring as the men’s basketball team beat James Madison University (JMU), 65-54, Saturday to snap the Dukes’ 22-game home winning streak. Young had 14 points and a game high of nine rebounds and two blocked shots. The Patriots now boast a 5-2 overall record and are undefeated in the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) at 2-0.

JMU limited two-time CAA player of the year George Evans to 12 points, but the senior contributed eight rebounds, four assists, and two blocked shots. George Mason also got 10 points and five assists from Tremaine Price and 10 points from Rob Anderson.

The Patriots return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 20, when they host Coastal Carolina University at 7 p.m. The team’s next conference game is on Jan. 3 against the University of Richmond.
