The university community is invited to attend an Enterprise Engineering and Policy lecture on e-business processes given today by Mathias Kirchmer, president of IDS Scheer, Inc. The lecture is held at 4:30 p.m. in the Johnson Center, Assembly Room G. For more information, contact Tom Gulledge at email@example.com.
Kirchmer says that while companies in the 1990s focused on the design and implementation of their internal business processes to overcome functional barriers, this decade is about integration among enterprises–inter-enterprise processes. The goal is the realization of successful collaborative inter-enterprise business processes, using the Internet as key enabler. The resulting e-business processes across multiple organizations require well-suited approaches for business processes management. This presentation discusses an approach for design, implementation, and continuous improvement of these e-business processes.
Kirchmer, a renowned expert in designing, implementing, and improving business processes, joined IDS Scheer in 1990 as a consultant and project manager. In addition to supporting IDS Scheer’s development strategy, Kirchmer frequently lends his knowledge and expertise to promote industry growth, hosting talks and presentations at leading trade shows and conferences throughout the United States and Europe. Since 1997, he has been a faculty member in the department of organizational dynamics at the University of Pennsylvania.
